Golden Yosemite National Park Elopement | Aly and Emily
Yosemite National Park offers some of the most incredible views that are perfect for an eloping couple. When it came to Aly and Emily, the two knew that road tripping to Yosemite and saying their vows among the giant rocks was the most incredible way to start their marriage.
Aly and Emily started their elopement day at sunrise with photos at Glacier Point. We climbed around the rocks and explored what the area had to offer as we watched the sun rise over the cliffs. It was absolutely incredible to watch this part of the park come alive!
One of my favorite things about eloping in Yosemite National Park is the diversity in locations that are offered. From places like Glacier Point to Taft Point to Yosemite Valley and even Mariposa Grove, there are tons of locations in the park that serve as the perfect back drop for your elopement day.
Hosting a wedding ceremony in Yosemite National Park is less complicated than you may realize. First, you need to choose the time of year that you’d like to get married. Staying up to date with current weather conditions is crucial in determining the best time of year to have your wedding or elopement.
Next, and probably the single most important piece of the puzzle is to determine a spot to say your vows and apply for your special use permit. Like I’ve said before, Yosemite offers loads of amazing ceremony locations, which can be found here. After you’ve decided on your ceremony spot, you need to submit your special use permit application and then voila - you’re booked and ready to go!
Aly and Emily decided to say their vows along the water at Cathedral Beach Picnic Area. The scenery around them was stunning with water and trees covering most of one side and the rock formations peeking out all over the other side.
After the couple’s evening ceremony, we drove to El Cap Meadow where Aly and Emily frolicked through the valley before setting up a picnic to round out their day. The couple had champagne and cake and toasted to their newly found commitment to each other as we watched the sun go down behind the rocks.
