My trip to Yosemite was one that I will never forget! I am fortunate enough to be a part of the Dirty Boots and Messy Hair team, which often brings with it rad opportunities such as this one. A couple of weeks ago, I found my way to Autocamp near Mariposa, California surrounded by other like-minded creatives for a week of learning and adventuring. Every aspect of my time in California was eye opening in one way or another, and every second of interacting with the speakers and attendees was good for my soul. We had the opportunity to explore Yosemite National Park and photograph shoots led by some of the industry greats. Even though I’ve already shared SO many photos from my time spent in Cali, I decided to create a blog post to keep things a little more concise and organized and because let’s face it, blogs are cool and seeing it pop up in my Facebook memories will be, too. But before I get in to the images, I will say that as an extreme introvert, this trip was difficult for me. A lot of the time, people will see me by myself and think that I’m not having fun or that I’m lonely, but really, I’m perfectly content just doing me. This trip forced me to get out of my comfort zone and be social. It was tough, but I needed it. I feel like others out there who suffer from social anxiety will understand me when I say that the thought of being in a large group of people makes my heart race, which is just another reason why elopements and super intimate weddings are more of my speed. At the end of the day, I traveled to California for the first time in my life (solo), and I have to say that my time there was pretty incredible. Here are a few of my favorite images from my time at DBMH Camp. I hope the images speak for themselves and that my words encourage you to take a deep breath and step out of your comfort zone, too.
