Kendall + Brandon | Buffalo National River Elopement
I remember the moment I received this inquiry. I was getting out of the car at Wal-Mart to grocery shop with my husband. I was SO pumped that Kendall contacted me to photograph her elopement. She and Brandon are two of the most adventurous, down-to-Earth souls that we have ever met, and we instantly connected. On the morning of their big day, we drove to the Northwest part of the state where Kendall and Brandon had rented an airbnb cabin to get ready in. The details that Kendall had prepared were so amazing and uniquely her.. she even had a blue jean jacket made ya’ll. And can we just talk about how beautiful her dress is?! It was the perfect combination of modern meets vintage.
The original plan was for Brandon and Kendall to say their vows on the shore of the Buffalo River, but Mother Nature had a different plan. Instead, we drove to Steel Creek Campground and the couple said “I do” with the beautiful bluffs in the background. The rain poured down around us and was beyond beautiful. The fog lifted over the bluffs and created the most perfect cozy feeling. Brandon and Kendall were soaking wet by the time it was all said and done, but I am 100% confident that their big day will be one that they remember for the rest of their lives.
My favorite part of Kendall + Brandon’s day was their reaction to the weather. They weren’t bummed. They weren’t sad. Instead, they were ecstatic. These two knew that the most important part of the day was the vow they made to each other. I feel that far too often we forget about the purpose of the day and get caught up in making every little detail perfect. When in reality, life isn’t perfect and being able to overcome and adapt to change with your partner in hand is what marriage is all about. Kendall + Brandon had the most beautiful day celebrating their love along the Buffalo River with their closest friends and family in tow, weather included.
