When Olivia reached out to me about shooting her vow renewal, I was ecstatic! Not only is she a super sweet soul, but she is also a photographer so I knew that photographs were just as important to her as they are to me. We started the day in Little Rock, Arkansas before heading to Petit Jean State Park. Olivia and her best friend Jess got ready at a friend’s house. The details of Olivia’s dress and accessories were to die for. She even had the perfume bottle that her husband got her as a gift when they got married years ago. The perfume combined with Olivia’s shoes and grandmother’s ring made my vintage loving heart swoon. And let’s not forget one of the most beautiful bouquets I’ve ever seen, which Olivia happened to make herself.
Next to get ready was Olivia’s husband, Brandon. If I had to choose one word that best described Brandon’s demeanor while waiting to see his bride it would be serenity. Brandon was calm and untroubled. He wasn’t worried or phased. He was quiet while getting ready and remained focused on looking his best for Olivia.
Finally, it was time for their first look. A little backstory before we get any further. Brandon and Olivia were married at the courthouse five years ago. They didn’t do a first look or have professional photos made and I remember Olivia stating how excited she was for Brandon to see her for the first time in her dress. During the first look, there was a calmness in the air and the love that these two have for one another lit up the room.
Now, with the anticipation of seeing each other behind them, off to Petit Jean State Park we went to photograph the couple on the cliffs at the overlook. This part of their story is one of my favorites. These two danced around the cliffs, popped champagne, and Brandon even played guitar for Olivia while they sang together.
I think it goes without saying that Olivia and Brandon’s day was full of magic, love, and so much happiness. The irrevocable love that these two have for one another is both inspiring and beautiful. I wish them both the absolute best and many, many years of love to come.
